Sweet and Smoky Tri-Tip

Ingredients:

Sweet and Smoky Tri-Tip

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons Kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoons pepper
  • 1 boneless beef tri-tip roast (about 2 1/4 pounds)

Directions:

  1. Heat grill on medium.
  2. In small bowl, combine oil, sugar, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper.
  3. Rub all over tri-tip, which can be wrapped in plastic and refrigerated up to 1 day.
  4. Grill beef 30 minutes or until 125°F on meat thermometer, turning over 3 times.
  5. Transfer to cutting board; let rest at least 10 minutes.
  6. Thinly slice against grain to serve.
