Simple Crock Pot Laulau

Ingredients:

Simple Crock Pot Laulau

  • 3 pounds pork butt
  • 3 tablespoons Hawaiian salt
  • Garlic powder, to taste
  • 2 bags (1 pound each) fresh luau leaves
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Directions:

  1. Rub the pork butt with Hawaiian salt and garlic powder; place it in a crock pot.
  2. Wash luau leaves; remove stems and fibrous parts of the veins.
  3. Fill a large pot with water, add the 1 teaspoon of salt; cover and bring to a boil.
  4. Blanche luau leaves; drain well.
  5. Place luau leaves in the crock pot, surrounding the pork butt.
  6. Cook on high for 4 hours, then reduce the heat to low and cook for an additional 3 to 4 hours OR cook on medium heat for 7 to 8 hours.

Makes 8 servings.
