Sauteed Fresh Mahimahi with Ponzu Sauce

Ingredients:

Sauteed Fresh Mahimahi with Ponzu Sauce

  • 12 2-ounce mahimahi filets
  • Pinch of salt
  • Dash of black pepper
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoon canola oil

Ponzu Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup rice vinegar
  • 1/2 cup shoyu
  • Juice of 2 calamansi
  • Hawaiian pepper, smashed<
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 2 teaspoons water

Directions:

  1. Season mahimahi filets with salt and pepper.
  2. Lightly flour and shake off excess flour.
  3. Heat oil in frying pan on medium.
  4. Saute fish 3-4 minutes on each side.

For ponzu sauce:

  1. In a small pot, combine vinegar, shoyu, calamansi juice and Hawaiian pepper.
  2. Bring to a simmer.
  3. Add cornstarch mixture to thicken.
  4. Bring to a slow simmer for 1 minute.
  5. Serve over cooked mahimahi.

Makes 4 servings.
