Ingredients:

Bool Go Gi (Fire Meat)

  • 1 lb rib eye (or thinly sliced beef for sukiyaki)
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup sake
  • 1/3 cup sesame oil
  • 3 tablespoons chopped green onion
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon toasted and ground sesame seed
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili pepper flakes

Directions:

  1. Cut rib eye into 1/8-inch slices.
  2. Combine remaining ingredients; marinate meat in mixture for at least one hour or overnight.
  3. To broil, place meat on rack of broiler pan.
  4. Broil 3-inches from broiler unit in electric oven for 1 to 2 minutes on each side.
  5. To pan fry, heat griddle; brush with additional sesame oil.
  6. Fry meat slices for 1 to 2 minutes on each side.

Makes 4 to 6 servings.
