Bool Go Gi (Fire Meat)

1 lb rib eye (or thinly sliced beef for sukiyaki)
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup soy sauce
1/3 cup sake
1/3 cup sesame oil
3 tablespoons chopped green onion
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 tablespoon toasted and ground sesame seed
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon chili pepper flakes


Cut rib eye into 1/8-inch slices. Combine remaining ingredients; marinate meat in mixture for at least one hour or overnight. To broil, place meat on rack of broiler pan. Broil 3-inches from broiler unit in electric oven for 1 to 2 minutes on each side. To pan fry, heat griddle; brush with additional sesame oil. Fry meat slices for 1 to 2 minutes on each side. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
