Binangkal (Sesame Seed Doughnuts)

Ingredients:

Binangkal (Sesame Seed Doughnuts)

  • 4 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 2 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 1/4 cup evaporated milk
  • Vegetable oil
  • White sesame seeds, roasted

Directions:

  1. In a large bowl, mix flour, brown sugar, and baking soda.
  2. Make a well in the center of the flour mixture.
  3. Combine eggs and vanilla; pour into the center of flour mixture.
  4. Stir in the evaporated milk and mix until dough is thick and sticky.
  5. Dampen hands with vegetable oil and shape dough into 1/2-inch balls; roll in sesame seeds.
  6. Heat oil to 325°F and deep fry until golden brown; drain.

Makes 2 1/2 dozen balls.
