Spicy Chicken Wings

Ingredients:

Spicy Chicken Wings

  • 4 pounds frozen chicken wing drumettes
  • 1 cup flour
  • Salad oil for deep frying
  • 1 Hawaiian red pepper, seeded and minced
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon mirin
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/4 teaspoon minced ginger root
  • 1 clove garlic, minced

Directions:

  1. Thaw chicken; drain well.
  2. Dredge in flour.
  3. Heat oil to 400°F.
  4. In a small bowl, combine remaining ingredients.
  5. Fry chicken in hot oil until golden brown.
  6. Immediately dip into soy sauce mixture; remove and drain.

Makes 15 to 20 appetizer servings.
