Ingredients:
Shoyu Chicken
Here’s an easy recipe for a local favorite, Shoyu Chicken. Enjoy!
1 whole chicken (about 2.5 pounds) (you can substitute with thighs, drumsticks or breast meat)
2 cups soy sauce
11/2 cups brown sugar
1/2 cup water
1 teaspoon white vinegar
1/2 cup green onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, chopped
2 tablespoons ginger, chopped
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Directions:
Place all of the ingredients in slow cooker, cover and cook (turning chicken over once halfway through the time) on HIGH for 3-4 hours or LOW for 6-7 hours.
Frozen chicken may be used by adjusting the cooking time to HIGH for 5 hours and LOW for 8 hours.
Makes 4 servings.
