Prune-Apricot Mui

Ingredients:

Prune-Apricot Mui

  • 5 pounds dried pitted prunes
  • 1 1/2 pounds dried apricots
  • 1/2 pound dried lemon peel, cut into pieces
  • 1/2 pound li hing mui
  • 1 pound dark brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups lemon juice
  • 3 tablespoons whiskey
  • 3 tablespoons Hawaiian salt
  • 1 tablespoon five spice powder
  • 10 whole cloves

Directions:

  1. In a large bowl, combine prunes, apricots, lemon peel and li hing mui.
  2. Combine remaining ingredients and pour over fruits, mixing thoroughly.
  3. Let stand 2 days before serving.

Makes 1 gallon (about 64 servings).

I have used this receipt before and it was a hit and Everybody just love it. I only make only for Christmas.
