HONOLULU, August 11, 2017 - Hawaiian Electric Company crews will be improving the power distribution system near the intersection of Middle Street and North King Street on Saturday and Monday through Wednesday.
For the safety of the public and the crews, one lane of traffic will be closed during the work days from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Pedestrians will be able to safely walk along the work areas.
On Saturday, the right-hand lane of North King Street will be closed from the Middle Street intersection to the parking lot past the Love's Bakery ramps. The ramps will remain open.
On Monday through Wednesday, the mauka-bound right-hand lane of Middle Street will be closed along the Love's Bakery building to the intersection of Middle Street and North King Street.
Traffic signs and cones will mark the work areas. Flagmen, aided by special duty police officers, will help direct traffic flow. Hawaiian Electric wants to advise motorists of the lane closures and apologizes for the inconvenience.
