Sweet and Sour Spareribs (multicooker)

Ingredients:

Sweet and Sour Spareribs (Multicooker)

  • 1 tablespoon canola oil
  • 5 pounds pork spareribs
  • 1 cup shoyu
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup ginger, peeled and sliced
  • 1 (20-ounces) can pineapple chunks
  • 3 medium carrots, peeled and chopped

Directions:

  1. In multicooker on sauté setting, heat oil and sear spareribs until brown.
  2. Add shoyu, sugar, apple cider vinegar and ginger.
  3. Strain juice from can of pineapple chunks and add juice only.
  4. Cover multicooker lid, set pressure to high and cook for 30 minutes.
  5. When finished, allow pressure to release naturally, about 10 minutes.
  6. Remove lid and stir spareribs with sauce.
  7. Add pineapple chunks and carrots to pot.
  8. Cover lid, set pressure to high and cook for another 5 minutes.
  9. Allow pressure to release naturally and carefully remove lid.

Serves 10.

Tip: When closing the lid to your multicooker, make sure that it is in the locked position before starting the pressure cooking.

Delicious!!! Did not add carrots and cut sugar to 1 ½ cups. Will definitely make this again. Received rave reviews. Picky kid had seconds!
