Uncle Noble's Cowboy Beans

Ingredients:

Uncle Noble's Cowboy Beans

  • 1 pound bacon, sliced
  • 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 jalapeno peppers, seeded and minced
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup barbeque sauce
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1/4 cup prepared mustard
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 can (15 ounces) kidney beans, drained
  • 1 can (15 ounces) lima beans or butter beans, drained
  • 1 can (1 pound, 15 ounces) pork and beans

Directions:

  1. In a large sauce pot or Dutch oven, sauté bacon, ground beef, onion, garlic, and peppers; drain fat.
  2. Combine remaining ingredients and stir into meat mixture; heat through.
  3. For best-tasting results, refrigerate the cowboy beans overnight and reheat in a slow cooker or crock pot on low heat for four hours.
