Tortilla Crust Pizza

Ingredients:

Tortilla Crust Pizza

This recipe is perfect for a snack or light meal. If you're having a party, you can lay out a variety of toppings and have each guest build their own pizza.

  • 2 tablespoons pizza sauce, or spaghetti sauce, or pesto
  • 6 tablespoons shredded mozzarella or Italian-blend cheese
  • 1 soft taco (6-inch size) wheat tortilla

Optional toppings:

  • Thinly sliced pepperoni
  • Thinly sliced salami
  • Thinly sliced mushrooms
  • Sliced olives
  • Julienned bell peppers (red, yellow, orange, or green)
  • Thinly sliced tomatoes or oil-packed sun dried tomatoes

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Spread sauce over tortilla, sprinkle cheese on top.
  3. Place desired topping atop pizza, being careful not to put too many toppings, or the tortilla won't be able to support the weight.
  4. Bake directly on oven rack,* until cheese is melted and toppings are cooked.

Makes 1 serving.

*If using the Panasonic Flash Express toaster oven, you do not need to preheat it. Bake pizza at 355°F for 4 to 5 minutes.

*If using a conventional full-size oven, bake pizza for 10 minutes.

*If using a conventional toaster oven, bake pizza for 12 minutes.
