Tofu Pattie

Ingredients:

Tofu Pattie

  • 1 block (20 oz) firm tofu (soybean curd)
  • 1 tablespoon minced dried shrimp
  • 1/4 cup minced green onion
  • 1 tablespoon hondashi (Japanese fish flavored soup granules)
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon chopped shiofuke konbu (Japanese dried salted seaweed)
  • Salad oil for frying

Directions:

  1. Place tofu in a cloth and squeeze to remove liquid.
  2. In a bowl, combine tofu with the remaining ingredients, except the oil.
  3. Mix well and form into patties.
  4. In a skillet, heat the oil.
  5. Fry patties until golden brown on both sides.
  6. Drain.

Makes 10 to 12 patties.
