Spicy Buffalo and Blue Cheese Gyro

Spicy Buffalo and Blue Cheese Gyro

  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup blue cheese crumbles
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill leaves
  • 10 mint leaves
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 pieces prepared pita bread
  • 1 loaf homemade gyro meat (see above recipe), thinly sliced
  • Buffalo wing sauce to taste
  • 1 heart romaine lettuce, roughly chopped
  • 1/2 cup chopped celery
  • 1/2 small red onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 Roma tomatoes, seeded and chopped


  1. Add mayonnaise, sour cream, cheese, garlic, dill, and mint in a food processor and pulse until combined.
  2. Season with salt and pepper; set aside.
  3. On a pita, portion out 1/8 of the gyro meat slices and dress with buffalo wing sauce to taste.
  4. Top with lettuce, celery, onion, tomatoes, and blue cheese dressing.
  5. Repeat with remaining ingredients and serve.

Makes 8 servings.
