Sake-Glazed Shrimp with Black Beans

Ingredients:

Sake-Glazed Shrimp with Black Beans

  • 1 lb shrimp, shelled and cleaned
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 tablespoon salad oil
  • 1 tablespoon grated garlic
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger root
  • 2 tablespoons sake (Japanese rice wine)
  • 1 teaspoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon black beans, soaked
  • 3 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Chinese parsley, coarsely chopped

Directions:

  1. Season shrimp with salt and pepper; lightly coat with flour.
  2. In a skillet, heat oil.
  3. Lightly sauté; garlic and ginger.
  4. Add shrimp and sake; cook for 1 minute.
  5. Add oyster sauce, soy sauce, black beans, heavy cream, and butter; cook for another minute.
  6. Garnish with Chinese parsley.

Makes 2 servings.
