Pineapple Upside Down Cake

Ingredients:

Pineapple Upside Down Cake

  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 (20-ounce) can sliced pineapple, drained
  • 10 maraschino cherries
  • 1 (18.5-ounce) package yellow cake mix

Directions:

  1. Heat oven to 350°F.
  2. Melt butter in a 13-by-9-inch baking pan.
  3. Stir in brown sugar.
  4. Arrange pineapple slices on sugar mixture; put cherries in center of pineapple slices.
  5. Prepare cake mix according to package directions.
  6. Pour batter over fruit, spreading evenly.
  7. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes.
  8. Cool slightly; invert onto a serving platter.

Serves 20.
