Pan Pizza

Ingredients:

Pan Pizza

  • 1 loaf (1 pound) frozen bread dough, thawed
  • 1 pound Italian sausage
  • 1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste
  • 1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano leaves
  • Dash of pepper
  • 1/4 pound sliced pepperoni
  • 1/2 pound fresh mushrooms, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 green pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup sliced black olives
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 pound mozzarella cheese, shredded

Directions:

  1. Grease a 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1-inch pan.
  2. Stretch and press dough to fit prepared pan making a 1-inch rim on all sides.
  3. Cover pan with a dish towel and set in a warm place for about 20 minutes.
  4. Preheat electric oven to 450°F.
  5. Remove sausage from casings.
  6. In a skillet, crumble sausage and brown lightly; drain well.
  7. In a small bowl, combine tomato paste, tomato sauce, oregano and pepper.
  8. Spread over dough.
  9. Top with sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, onion, green pepper and olives.
  10. Sprinkle with parmesan and mozzarella cheeses.
  11. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes.

Makes 10 servings.
