Kona Coffee Bars

Ingredients:

Kona Coffee Bars

  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons instant Kona coffee
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate pieces
  • 3/4 cup chopped pecans

Directions:

  1. Preheat electric oven to 375°F.
  2. Grease an 8 -inch square baking pan.
  3. In large bowl of electric mixer, cream sugar and butter.
  4. Add eggs, instant coffee, and vanilla; mix well.
  5. Sift flour and baking soda; mix into butter mixture.
  6. Stir in chocolate and pecans.
  7. Pour into prepared pan.
  8. Bake for 20 minutes.
  9. Cool and cut into bars.

Makes 16 servings.
