Homemade Beef Jerky

Ingredients:

Homemade Beef Jerky

  • 3/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 3/4 cup low-sodium shoyu
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika or to taste
  • 1 tablespoon honey, or more to taste
  • 2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 pounds flank steak, thinly sliced

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 175°F.
  2. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack over foil.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk Worcestershire sauce, shoyu, paprika, honey, black pepper, red pepper flakes, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  4. Add beef to bowl and turn to coat beef completely.
  5. Cover bowl and marinate in the refrigerator for 3 hours or overnight.
  6. Transfer beef to paper towels to dry.
  7. Discard marinade.
  8. Arrange beef slices in a single layer on wire rack.
  9. Bake beef in oven until dry and leathery, about 3-4 hours.
  10. Cut with scissors into bite-size pieces.

Makes about 1 1/2 pounds.
