  • 1 can (12 oz) frozen coconut milk, thawed
  • 5 tablespoons sugar
  • 5 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 1/2 cups water


  1. Put coconut milk into a saucepan and bring a boil on low heat.
  2. In a bowl, combine sugar and cornstarch.
  3. Add water; blending well.
  4. Add cornstarch mixture to coconut milk.
  5. Stirring frequently with wire whisk, cook over medium heat until mixture thickens.
  6. Continue cooking until mixture starts to get translucent, and leaves the sides of the pan.
  7. Pour into an 8 x 8-inch pan.
  8. Chill until firm.
  9. Cut into 2-inch squares.

Makes 16 servings.
