In a large skillet over medium heat saute bacon until crisp. Then add cabbage and onions. Saute for 5 minutes; season with salt and pepper to taste. Toss in garlic and saute another 5 minutes. Once cabbage is tender, add pasta. Toss to mix and add a little of the reserved pasta water to help blend flavors. Taste for salt and pepper, then garnish with fresh chopped parsley and optional chili pepper flakes. Serve warm. Makes 4 servings.
