Fried Ahi in Soy Sauce

Ingredients:

Fried Ahi in Soy Sauce

  • 1 lb ahi (yellow fin tuna), cut into 4 filets
  • Salt and pepper
  • 2 tablespoons salad oil
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons dashi (soup stock)
  • 2 tablespoons mirin (sweet rice wine) or sugar
  • Shredded won bok (celery cabbage), watercress, or lettuce

Directions:

  1. Season fish with the salt and pepper.
  2. In a skillet, heat oil.
  3. Brown fish on both sides and remove from pan.
  4. Add soy sauce, dashi, and mirin to skillet; bring to a boil.
  5. Return fish to skillet; coat with sauce and cook for a few seconds.
  6. Serve on a bed of vegetables.

Makes 4 servings.
