Fresh Local Papaya Salad

Fresh Local Papaya Salad

  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1-3 Thai chili peppers (adjust according to taste)
  • 1/2 pound green papaya, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • Juice of 1 Meyer lemon
  • 2 tablespoons fish sauce (available in the Asian section)
  • 4 cherry tomatoes, sliced in quarters


  1. With a wooden mallet, pound garlic with Thai chili peppers.
  2. In a small bowl, add garlic mixture, sugar, lemon juice, fish sauce, and tomatoes; mix well.
  3. Add green papaya.

Makes 4 servings.
