Curried Skewered Beef

  • 1 1/2 pounds boneless beef
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 teaspoon curry powder
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup sherry or sauterne
  • 2 tablespoons wine vinegar
  • 1 green pepper, seeded
  • 1 onion


Cut meat into 1-inch cubes and sprinkle with seasoned salt. Combine oil, ginger, garlic, mustard, curry powder, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce in a saucepan. Bring to a boil. Cool slightly; stir in wine and vinegar. Pour over meat. Marinate about 3 hours in refrigerator. Cut green pepper and onion into 1-inch pieces. Thread meat on skewers alternating with pieces of green pepper and onions. Grill or broil to desired degree of doneness. Makes 6 servings.
