Cinnamon Cookies

Ingredients:

Cinnamon Cookies

  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Directions:

  1. Preheat electric oven to 350°F.
  2. Sift flour with baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt.
  3. In large bowl of electric mixer, cream shortening and the 1 1/2 cups sugar.
  4. Add eggs and beat well; stir in flour mixture.
  5. Form into 1-inch balls.
  6. Combine the 2 tablespoons sugar and the cinnamon; roll balls in sugar mixture.
  7. Place balls, 2 inches apart, on baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes.

Makes 6 dozen.
