Basic Teriyaki Sauce

Ingredients:

1/2 cup shoyu
1/3 cup sugar
Pressed garlic, to taste

Optional:
1 piece ginger, grated
1 Hawaiian chili pepper, seeded and minced
Dash of sesame oil

Directions:

Combine all ingredients and use as a marinade for short ribs, chicken, hamburger, meat jun, Spam musubi, or fish. Makes about 1/2 cup.
