Asian Pork Sliders

1 1/2 pounds coarsely ground pork (96% lean)
1-inch piece fresh ginger, finely grated
1 large garlic clove, peeled and finely grated
1 stalk green onion, trimmed and minced
2 tablespoons low sodium shoyu
2 teaspoons dark sesame oil
1 teaspoon cornstarch
6 whole-wheat hamburger buns
Spicy Asian Slaw (see additional recipe)
Sriracha (Thai hot sauce; available in the Asian section of local supermarkets)


In a medium bowl, mix together the pork, ginger, garlic, green onions, shoyu, sesame oil, and corn starch. Shape into 6 patties. In a nonstick skillet over medium heat, cook the pork patties to until completely cooked and golden on both sides, about 7 minutes total. Serve on whole-wheat bun, topped with Spicy Asian Slaw and Sriracha, if desired. Makes 6 servings.
