Almond Mocha Bars

Ingredients:

Almond Mocha Bars

  • 1 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon instant coffee
  • 1 package (6 ounce) semi-sweet chocolate pieces
  • 1/2 cup chopped almonds

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Grease a 15 x 10 x 1-inch pan.
  3. In a large bowl, cream butter and brown sugar.
  4. Add almond extract.
  5. Sift flour with baking powder, salt and coffee.
  6. Stir into creamed mixture.
  7. Stir in chocolate and nuts.
  8. Press dough into prepared pan.
  9. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes.
  10. Cut into bars while warm.

Makes 30 bars.
