Hawaii Powered: Help shape Hawaii’s energy future

June 15, 2026 | Written by Ken Aramaki

Building a safe, reliable and resilient clean energy grid takes both technical planning and input from the communities we serve. We’ve started a new cycle of integrated grid planning (IGP), and we invite you to take part in the process.

Right now, we’re gathering input through a short, 5-question survey about some of the ideas and assumptions guiding the data modeling behind our planning. The survey is quick, and your input will help shape important decisions about Hawaii’s energy future. Your voice matters as we plan the future of our grid.

About Hawaii Powered and Integrated Grid Planning

Hawaii Powered” is our vision for a future powered by 100% local, clean energy. It’s about creating safe, reliable and resilient energy solutions here in Hawaii, for Hawaii.

Integrated grid planning (IGP) is the process that helps guide us toward that future. It outlines a pathway for reducing carbon emissions, modernizing the grid and reaching our state’s goal of 100% renewable energy by 2045. Through this process, we’re planning for Hawaii’s transition to clean energy while coordinating investments in renewable energy, transmission and grid upgrades.

IGP is an ongoing process that is updated regularly as technology, community needs and energy systems change. Community feedback plays an important role in shaping the plan, and we’ll continue seeking public input throughout the process.
