Pear Cream Cheese Tart

Ingredients:

Pear Cream Cheese Tart

  • 2 cans (1 pound 13 ounces) Bartlett pears, drained
  • 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 1/3 cups chopped nuts
  • 2 packages (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon

Directions:

  1. Cut pears into thin slices; drain well on paper towels.
  2. Preheat electric oven to 350°F.
  3. In large bowl of electric mixer, cream butter, the 2/3 cup sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon of the vanilla.
  4. Mix in flour and nuts.
  5. Press evenly into a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
  6. Bake for 15 minutes; cool.
  7. Beat cream cheese with eggs, the 1/2 cup sugar, and the remaining 1 teaspoon vanilla.
  8. Pour onto cooled crust.
  9. Place pear slices on cream cheese mixture.
  10. Sprinkle with cinnamon.
  11. Bake for 30 minutes.

Makes 16 servings.

I've been baking this recipe for many years ¡¡¡yummy!!! It has been my family's favorite dessert for Christmas and/or special events. This is probably my favorite recipe. Mahalo ;)
