KAHULUI, April 29, 2025 – Learn more about the Hawaiian Electric Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) program on Maui and how to prepare for emergencies at the following community event in West Maui:

Attendees can also receive free emergency preparedness items while supplies last.
- 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. – Presentations by Hawaiian Electric, Maui Emergency Management Agency, Maui Fire Department, Hawaii Wildfire Management Organization
- 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. – Visit community partner resource tables, including American Red Cross, Maui Humane Society, Project Vision Hawaii, Hawaii State Department of Health, Hawaii Emergency Management Agency, Hawaiian Electric, Maui Emergency Management Agency, Maui Fire Department, and Hawaii Wildfire Management Organization.
To keep customers and communities safe, Hawaiian Electric implemented a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) program in 2024 as part of our Wildfire Safety Strategy.
It’s important for you and your family to have an action plan so you know what to do if you see the PSPS Alert. As with a hurricane, you should be prepared to be without electricity for an extended time, possibly days.
