Hawaiian Electric work on Mott Smith Drive in Makiki extended thru Oct. 31
Work is scheduled weekdays only, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

HONOLULU, Oct. 1, 2019 – Contractors for Hawaiian Electric are continuing installation of new underground electrical infrastructure on Mott Smith Drive in Makiki as part of the companyʻs ongoing improvements to build resilience.
The work, which began in August, has been extended thru Thursday, Oct. 31, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weekdays only. During this time, traffic will be contraflowed on Mott Smith Drive between Nehoa Street and Luna Place.
Message boards, safety signs and traffic cones will alert drivers ahead of the work zone. Special duty police and flagmen will provide traffic control.
Motorists should drive with caution when approaching and passing the area as there may be temporary stops to allow vehicles through the contraflow lane.
