HONOLULU, Sept. 8, 2017 - Hawaiian Electric Company crews will continue work on the power distribution system near the intersection of Middle and North King streets this Sunday through Wednesday, Sept. 10–13.

For the safety of the public and the crews, traffic lane closures will be required during the work days from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

On Sunday, both mauka-bound lanes of traffic on Middle Street will be closed along the Love's Bakery building to the intersection of Middle and North King streets. Traffic will be contraflowed in one of the two makai-bound lanes of traffic in that area.

On Monday through Wednesday only one lane of traffic will be closed, as follows.

Monday and Wednesday the mauka-bound right-hand lane of traffic along Love's Bakery will be closed, and the lane closure will continue into the intersection, turn right onto North King Street, and end at the ramp to Love's Bakery parking lot. The ramp will remain open.

On Tuesday the mauka-bound right-hand lane of traffic along Love’s Bakery will be closed to the intersection of Middle and North King streets.

Pedestrians will be able to safely walk along the work areas.

Traffic signs and cones will mark the work area. Flagmen, aided by special-duty police officers, will help direct traffic flow.

Hawaiian Electric wants to advise motorists of the lane closures and apologizes for the inconvenience.
