Work scheduled on April 18-21
Release Date: 4/17/2017
HONOLULU, April 17, 2017 - A Hawaiian Electric Company contractor will be performing utility work along Kunia Road in Wahiawa near Schofield Barracks as part of a project to interconnect the Schofield Generating Station with the electric grid. The work will be performed on Tuesday, April 18, to Friday, April 21, between 8:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
For the safety of work crews and the public, the far-right northeast-bound lane of Kunia Road will be closed during construction hours between Schofield Barrack's Foote Gate and Wilikina Drive. Work will begin near Foote Gate and continue toward Wilikina Drive. Traffic control measures, aided by special-duty police officers, will be used to help direct traffic flow on Kamehameha Highway.
Hawaiian Electric wants to advise the public about this work and apologizes for any inconvenience.
