HONOLULU, Oct. 2, 2018 – A contractor working for Hawaiian Electric Company is probing for existing underground utilities at the intersection of Kaiolu Street and Ala Wai Boulevard. The work requires the closure of the makai lane of traffic on Ala Wai Boulevard between Lewers Street and Launiu Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., on Wednesday, Oct. 3.

Hawaiian Electric would like to advise the public that additional daytime lane closures in the area, during the same hours, may be required through the end of October due to ongoing construction activities.

This work is part of the construction to install new 46-kilovolt cables under the Ala Wai Canal, serving Waikiki.

The lane closure will be marked with traffic signs and cones.
