The Kaukau 4 Keiki program ensures that Hawaii Island keiki continue to have reliable access to fresh, locally sourced nutritious food when school meal programs are unable to operate. For six weeks during the summer break, distribution sites around the island provide weekly meal kits to keiki across the island, including in rural, hard-to-reach areas.

Hawaiian Electric is supporting this effort by volunteering to help with meal kit packing and distribution to about 800 keiki at the Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium distribution site.
