Request for Proposals – Terminalling and Handling for Big Island of Hawaii

RFP OPEN AS OF 2/5/2018 - PROPOSALS ARE DUE 4/6/2018

On February 5, 2018 Hawaii Electric Light, Inc. (“Hawaii Electric Light”), a subsidiary of Hawaiian Electric Company, Inc., issued a request for proposal (“RFP”) for terminalling and handling services for Industrial Fuel Oil (“IFO”) and Diesel (“Diesel”) for a term of three (3) years to commence no later than January 1, 2020, for generation at Hawaii Electric Light’s power generation plants on the island of Hawaii (referred to as “Terminalling RFP”).

On March 28, 2018, an extension of the proposal submission due date was issued. The submission deadline for the Oahu Fuel proposals is now April 6, 2018, with the goal of submitting a proposed contract to the Hawaii Public Utilities Commission for approval by October 2018. Completed proposals must be submitted electronically to FuelsRFP@hawaiianelectric.com by the April 6, 2018 deadline, and a hard copy must be sent via U.S. Postal, UPS or FedEx to Hawaiian Electric. Questions may also be submitted to this same email address.
