On April 28, 2017, Hawaiian Electric issued a request for proposals (RFP) to supply up to 3.1 million gallons of sustainably produced, renewable biofuel per year to fuel the 50-megawatt Schofield Generating Station (SGS) and to continue to supply biodiesel to the 8-megawatt Honolulu International Airport Emergency Power Facility (HIA EPF) for a term of three (3) years to commence as early as November 2018. Submission deadline for the proposals is June 16, 2017 with the goal of submitting a proposed contract to the Hawaii Public Utilities Commission for approval by November 2017. On April 29, 2011, Hawaiian Electric issued a request for proposals (RFP) to supply up to forty-two (42) million gallons of sustainably produced, renewable biofuel per year to fuel the Kahe Generating Station (KPP) for a term of two (2) years to commence as early as July 2014.

RFP issued on January 31, 2011
On January 31, 2011, Hawaiian Electric issued a request for proposals (RFP) to supply three to seven million gallons of sustainably produced, renewable biodiesel per year to fuel the 110-megawatt Campbell Industrial Estate Industrial Park Generation Station (CIP CT-1) for a term of three (3) years to commence as early as July 2012. Included is a request to supply 250,000 gallons of biodiesel per year for the 8-megawatt Honolulu International Airport Emergency Power Facility (HIA EPF) which is projected to be in service in the summer of 2012.
