RFP Update (December 11, 2017)

Maui Electric will be offering a site visit of the Company-owned Waena site on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. The Waena site is located along Pulehu and Waiko (a.k.a. Upper Division) Roads and Maui Electric personnel will be on site to facilitate access. The objective of the site visit is to allow interested parties a firsthand look at the physical layout and condition of the existing site, such that appropriate consideration can be accounted for in the development of Proposals.

Proposers may ask general questions related to the physical characteristics of the site, but due to the nature of the competitive bidding process, Maui Electric personnel (at their discretion) may not be able to answer or communicate directly with individual Proposers on specific questions. Proposers are encouraged to submit their questions to Maui Electric's firm RFP email address: or to the variable RFP email address:

All Proposers are instructed to park their vehicles along the Waiko (a.k.a. Upper Division) Road and to provide their own personal protective equipment.

Please note that attendance at the site visit is not mandatory to participate in the RFP. The final RFP schedule is subject to PUC approval, and accordingly, the date of the site visit is subject to change.
