Made this cake for my grandma who turned 94. She loved it! The whole family said it tasted legit! Ono cake. Thank you for sharing the recipe.

First off, I was very hesitant as I love Dobash cake and didn’t think I’d ever get that Zippys or Kings Bakery cake. I think I made a slight oops in the cake portion as it was a little more dense then I’d like it. The frosting was on point and overall the end result was pretty close.
Everyone that tried it said they couldn’t tell the difference but I will probably try again to get it right. Needless to say I was rather surprised by the end result and would suggest you try it. I’m going to film my next attempt.

OMG! This is so simple and delicious. I brought it to a church potluck and someone told me it tasted better than that famous in Liliha. For real! I was stoked.

I've tried from scratch recipes and recipes that say they taste like real dobash cake (from the bakery), but this is the only one that comes close. The pudding and 7-up add sponginess and moisture. It's perfect. Now if I could only find a good guava chiffon.
