Payment Assistance
Hawaiian Electric offers many programs to help a variety of customers in need. We provide programs for those that may qualify as low income or those with special medical needs, as well as a practical way for you to provide a helping hand to friends and family.
Payment Arrangement
Customers who are having difficulty paying their electric bill are urged to contact Customer Service so payment options and schedules can be arranged to help keep payments manageable. While customers will still be responsible for paying their electric bills, payment schedules and other options can help ease the financial challenges. The quickest way to start the process is to fill out and submit a Payment Arrangement Request Form.
Low Income Programs
A variety of programs provide financial assistance for those who are in need. Learn more about the programs offered by Hawaiian Electric, non-profit partnerships, and what our employees are doing to provide assistance to Hawaii’s low income families.

Special Medical Needs
The Special Medical Needs program is designed to help assist with the costs of customers who may be in need. Customers that are dependent on life support equipment used in their homes and/or have increased heating and cooling needs due to their medical conditions, may qualify for reduced electricity rates.
Life Support
If you require the use of life-support equipment in your home, it is important to let us know. If issues arise with payment, we take extra steps to find a solution that works for our customers that depend on life support equipment.
