Pole replacements Tues. - Wed. to impact N. Nimitz Hwy. westbound traffic & portion of Sumner St.
Hawaiian Electric will replace utility poles along North Nimitz Highway in Honolulu/Kapalama on Tuesday, Aug. 11, and Wednesday, Aug. 12, closing the far-right, westbound lane of N. Nimitz Hwy. between Awa and Sumner streets, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Pole replacements 8/6, 8/11 & 8/19 to close Waahila Ridge Trail
As part of its wildfire safety program, Hawaiian Electric will replace utility poles and equipment along the Waahila Ridge hillside above Manoa on Thursday, Aug. 6, Tuesday, Aug. 11, and Wednesday, Aug. 19, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Aug. 11: Urgent utility work along Hana Highway in Kahului
To maintain reliable service, Hawaiian Electric crews need to perform an urgent pole replacement due to a vehicle-pole incident along the Hana Highway between Hanamau Street and Hanakai Street in Kahului that may impact traffic flow on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. No service interruption is expected.
Utility work Thurs. to impact Moanalua Rd. & Laulima St.
Hawaiian Electric will replace a utility pole along Laulima Street and install an anchor on a pole located along Moanalua Road in Aiea on Thursday, Aug. 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Underground utility work to start Thurs. along Alakea St.
Hawaiian Electric will replace underground utility equipment in a vault for the Harbor Square condominium in downtown Honolulu starting on Thursday, Aug. 6, through Tuesday, August 18. The work will close the two right lanes of Alakea St. between Ala Moana Boulevard and Queen Street.

Overnight road closure for utility work in North Kona
Hawaiian Electric crews will replace a utility pole in North Kona on Hawaii Island on Thursday evening, Aug. 6. The replacement will require an overnight road closure while the work is being performed.
Utility work along S. Kihei Road to impact traffic Aug. 6 to 8
To maintain reliable service, Hawaiian Electric crews will be installing 2 poles and restringing power lines along S. Kihei Road between Alanui Ke Alii Road and Keonekai Street that will impact traffic on Thursday, Aug. 6 to Saturday, Aug. 8 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. No service interruption is expected.

Hawaiian Electric to install acoustic seabird detectors on Maui
Hawaiian Electric will be installing up to 125 acoustic seabird detectors on its electrical poles in various locations across Maui starting Monday, April 20 to Monday, Nov. 30, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., weather permitting.
