Tree trimming along Kamehameha Hwy. 12/8 – 12/19, impacting traffic from Kaaawa to Kahuku
Contractors for Hawaiian Electric will trim overgrown vegetation encroaching on power lines along Kamehameha Highway from Kaaawa to Kahuku starting Monday, Dec. 8, through Friday, Dec. 19.
Utility work Thurs. to impact Kamehameha Hwy. in Kaneohe
Hawaiian Electric will relocate a utility pole along Kamehameha Highway in Kaneohe on Thursday, Dec. 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The system reliability work will close a section of the northbound, makai lane of Kamehameha Hwy. just past the entrance to the Kualoa Regional Park with traffic contraflowed and some driveways restricted.
Underground utility work Tues. & Wed. along Hobron Ln. & Ena Rd. to impact Waikiki / Ala Moana area traffic
Hawaiian Electric will replace and install new underground cables along Hobron Lane and Ena Road on Tuesday, Dec. 2, and Wednesday, Dec. 3, impacting traffic in the Waikiki and Ala Moana areas.
Hawaiian Electric to install bird diverters using drones on Maui
Hawaiian Electric will be installing power line markers also known as bird diverters on its electrical infrastructure using unmanned aircrafts, or drones, in parts of Kahakuloa, Honomanu, and Kealia National Wildlife Refuge areas from Dec. 1 to Dec. 22, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily and weather permitting. Electric service will not be impacted.
Hawaiian Electric to conduct aerial line inspections
To improve system reliability, Hawaiian Electric will conduct quarterly aerial inspections of its major overhead transmission lines from Monday, Dec. 8, to Friday, Dec. 12.

Partial overnight road closure in north Kona
Hawaiian Electric crews will replace a utility pole in north Kona on Wednesday, Dec. 3. The mauka lane of Kuakini Highway, near the Hualalai Road intersection, will be closed from 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, to 6 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 4.
Utility work Mon. to cause traffic signal outages in Waikiki, Ala Moana and McCully areas, four intersections affected
On Monday, Dec. 1, Hawaiian Electric will perform emergency repairs on equipment in an electrical vault, causing a daylong outage to traffic signals in the Waikiki, Ala Moana and McCully areas from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Hawaiian Electric will resume a project to trim overgrown vegetation encroaching on power lines along Kamehameha Highway in Windward Oahu starting Monday, Dec. 1, through Friday, Dec. 12.
Dec. 1 – Dec. 5: Hawaiian Electric to perform aerial inspections in Ukumehame using drone technology
Hawaiian Electric will be using unmanned aircraft, or drones, for aerial inspections of its infrastructure in the Ukumehame area of West Maui from Monday, Dec. 1 to Friday, Dec. 5, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting.
