Utility work for grid hardening in May
Hawaiian Electric crews will replace 11 wood poles along Mamalahoa Highway in Kona on Thursday evenings from May 1-30. The overnight work will be done in sections and require a road closure from 10 p.m. on Thursday to 4 a.m. on Friday while the work is being performed.
Hawaiian Electric to continue aerial inspections with drones in Kula on April 23
Hawaiian Electric will continue to use unmanned aircraft, or drones, for aerial inspections of its infrastructure in various areas of Upcountry Maui including in the Pukalani area off of Kula Highway, on Wednesday, April 23, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting.
Utility work Thursday in two areas of Kalihi to impact traffic on Gulick Avenue, N. School Street
Hawaiian Electric crews will replace a utility pole along Gulick Avenue and upgrade equipment along N. School Street on Thursday, April 24, impacting traffic and restricting street parking in both areas of Kalihi from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Crews to replace utility poles, overhead lines Friday on Keeaumoku St. between Lunalilo and Kinau streets
Hawaiian Electric crews will replace two utility poles and power lines along Keeaumoku Street between Lunalilo and Kinau streets on Friday, April 25, partially closing Keeaumoku in both directions and restricting parking in the work zone from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Utility work Mon. - Fri. along Farrington Hwy. in Waianae
Hawaiian Electric crews and contractors will resume repairs to an underground duct at the corner of Farrington Highway and Glenmonger Street in Waianae starting Monday, April 21, until Friday, April 25, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The work will close the right, town-bound lane of Farrington Hwy. between Lualualei Homestead Road and Glenmonger across from the First Hawaiian Bank branch and Tamura's Super Market.
Hawaiian Electric to use helicopter in West Maui on April 17
Hawaiian Electric will be using a helicopter on Thursday, April 17, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., in the West Maui area, for assessment of the company’s electrical infrastructure.
Utility pole, cable replacement Tues. along Oneawa Street to require partial lane closure, restrict parking
Hawaiian Electric crews will replace a utility pole and power lines along Oneawa Street in Kailua on Tuesday, April 15, impacting traffic and street parking from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Utility work continues Friday on Dole St. near UH Manoa
Hawaiian Electric will continue utility equipment upgrades along Dole Street near the University of Hawaii at Manoa campus on Friday, April 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Hawaiian Electric to continue aerial inspections with drones in Upcountry Maui
Hawaiian Electric will continue to use unmanned aircraft, or drones, for aerial inspections of its infrastructure in various areas of Upcountry Maui on weekdays throughout the month of April, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., weather permitting. The inspections will take place in parts of Olinda, Piiholo, Kula, Keokea, and Ulupalakua.
Utility work Fri. to impact Dole St. traffic near UH Manoa
Hawaiian Electric will upgrade utility equipment along Dole Street near the University of Hawaii at Manoa campus on Friday, April 4, partially closing the Ewa-bound lanes between the East-West Center and University Avenue with traffic contraflowed from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
