Planning & Asset Management (PAM)

images/banners/nav_carousel/carousel_innovation.jpgAs more renewables grow and existing conventional generation are reduced, new analysis tools to simulate and model higher levels of distributed energy resources will be required to design, operate and control the utility grid.

Initiatives

PAM-01

Develop new planning tools, such as integrated energy modeling, grid simulation, and distribution planning tools, to support the analysis and evaluation of an evolving grid with 100% renewable energy.

PAM-02

Deploy advanced monitoring and control of regulation and contingency reserves to maintain the balance of supply and demand for power (system balancing), grid diagnostics, and utility automation.

PAM-03

Implement performance/condition-based maintenance coupled with online diagnostic capabilities or predictive maintenance algorithms for electric system assets.
