Integrated Interconnection Queue

images/banners/nav_carousel/navigation_integration_tools_and_resources.jpgHawaii is experiencing unprecedented increases in rooftop solar and utility-scale wind, solar and other renewable generation. Hawaiian Electric and others recognize the growing need for an improved interconnection process. Our goal is to provide fair and equitable treatment for all kinds of non-utility energy providers, customer-sited and utility-scale.

We believe that prospective customers (both residential and commercial) deserve an open and understandable process that shows where their proposed project stands. Our Integrated Interconnection Queue (IIQ) allows customers the ability to view the status of their application and understand where they are among other customers based on circuit.

The IIQ plan covers:

  • Distributed generation (DG):
    • Net Energy Metering (NEM)
    • Feed-in Tariff (FIT)
    • Standard Interconnection Agreement (SIA)
    • Schedule Q
  • Purchase Power Agreements (PPA) - Distribution level only
  • Other programs to be defined over time by Hawaiian Electric
