Ingredients:

$1000 Prize Recipe for Chicken

  • 6 chicken breast halves
  • Garlic salt, pepper, paprika to taste
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/4 cup chopped onions
  • 1 can (4 ounces) mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup sherry or white wine
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 can (10 1/2 ounces) cream of mushroom soup

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Place chicken in baking dish.
  3. Sprinkle with garlic salt, pepper, and paprika.
  4. In a saucepan, combine butter, basil, onions, mushrooms, sherry, lemon juice, and mushroom soup.
  5. Heat mixture until butter melts.
  6. Pour mixture over chicken and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
  7. Serve with hot rice.

Makes 6 servings.

To cook in a slow cooker: Place all ingredients in a pot on low and cook for 4 to 6 hours.

This chicken dish was soo delish! Easy and fast with ingredients easily found in anyone's pantry. Not the usual recipe using cream of mushroom soup:)

Excellent! Used breast fillets; crock pot is the best for this; IP may overcook it.
