Spinach Feta Turkey Burgers

Ingredients:

Spinach Feta Turkey Burgers

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 small onion, minced
  • 6 cups loosely packed baby spinach
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 pinch ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt or to taste
  • 2/3 cup plain bread crumbs
  • 1 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste

Directions:

  1. Heat olive oil in skillet.
  2. Add onions and cook until softened (about 5 minutes).
  3. Stir in spinach until just wilted.
  4. Remove from heat and cool.
  5. Combine turkey, nutmeg, salt and bread crumbs.
  6. Add in cooled spinach and feta cheese.
  7. Mix well.
  8. Form patties.
  9. Season with pepper.
  10. Combine turkey, nutmeg, salt and bread crumbs.
  11. Grill patties on barbeque (7-10 minutes per side).
  12. Serve with buns, lettuce, tomatoes, mayonnaise if desired.
