Community-Based Renewable Energy Resources
Terms
| Hawaiian Electric will administer CBRE across Oahu, Maui County and Hawaii Island. The utility can also serve as a subscriber organization under certain circumstances. |
| Subscriber Organization is a company, organization or group of people who own, develop or operate a CBRE project. |
| Subscribers are residential or commercial utility customers who participate, by lease or purchase, in a CBRE project somewhere on their island and get monthly bill credits to offset their electricity use. |
| Independent observer reports to the Public Utilities Commission to assure the program is administered and operated fairly and consistently with the Community-Based Renewable Energy tariff. |

Docket 2015-0389 Order 37592 Working Group Meetings
The purpose of these working group meetings is for Hawaiian Electric to collaborate with the involved parties and to develop recommendations for improvements to the interconnection process and certain other elements of the Community Based Renewable Energy (CBRE) program.
